Bearing in mind, the need to update the Student Government Election bylaws to increase voter
awareness and participation as well as improve the efficiency of elections beginning during the
next academic year 2012 – 2013,
The Wright State University Student Government,
1. Calls for the following changes under Article XXI of the Student Government Bylaws:
a. Section 3, Line A under Article XXI, read “Campaigning can take place on and
off campus”,
b. Section 3, Line A, sub clause 1 under Article XXI, to read “When campaigning
off campus, a candidate must obtain written permission from the property owner
describing where campaigning will be taking place, that it is permitted and
provide a copy to the SEC”,
c. Section 3, Line A, sub clause a. under Article XXI, to read “If a candidate plans to
hang propaganda off campus, they must obtain written permission from the
property owner and provide it to the SEC”,
d. Section 3 Line E, to add sub clause b. to read “Members of Student Government
are not permitted to undermine candidates or other members of Student
Government via social network, print, or any other media”,
e. Section 3, Line G, to read “Candidates are permitted to leave flyers around
campus with approved consent from the manager or Director of the location”.
