SRES 12-04 A Resolution to Amend the Constitution Authorizing Perpetual Resolutions 1 WHEREAS, The Constitution does not specify the tenure of a resolution; 2 WHEREAS, This inhibits the ability of members of Student Government to engage in 3 4 multi-year projects or endeavors via legislation; and WHEREAS, Duplicitous legislation is an avoidable inefficiency by the passage of an 5 amendment to the Student Government Constitution authorizing perpetual 6 resolutions; therefore, be the Constitution of Student Government 7 8 9 AMENDED, By the Student Government of Wright State University here assembled, that: After Section 5.03, the following be added: SECTION 5.04 10 PASSED LEGISLATION 11 a. Legislation duly passed by a majority of the Senate and 12 affirmed by the President or duly passed by two-thirds of those 13 Senators present and eligible to vote, both termed passed 14 legislation, shall be published for dissemination to the campus 15 community and those people for whom the resolution is 16 relevant. 17 b. Passed legislation shall remain in effect until such time as it is 18 annulled by a subsequent duly passed piece of legislation 19 explicitly ending its tenure.
