13-24 A Resolution to Modify the Number of Signatures to
Run for a Student Government Position

WHEREAS, Some Senators have voiced that it is very difficult to get students within
2
their respective colleges to sign their petition for candidacy because of
3
how small their classes are, their tracks that they’re on, and that the same
4
students are almost in every class that they’re taking: and
5
WHEREAS, Putting a lot of pressure on the, three smallest colleges, Boonshoft School
6
of Medicine (555 students according to Fall 2012 fact book), Professional
7
Psychology (109 students according to Fall 2012 fact book), and Nursing
8
and Health (992 students according to Fall 2012 fact book) students to get
9
signatures may discourage students from trying to run for the Student
10
Government Senate position; now, therefore, be it
11

RESOLVED, By the Student Government of Wright State University here
13
assembled, that:
14
(1) The required number of signatures required for Nursing and Health
15
candidates be reduced to 50 signatures; and
16
(2) The required number for Boonshoft School of Medicine and
17
Professional Psychology candidates be reduced to 25 signatures.
