National Survey of Student Engagement
Student Satisfaction Inventory
Surveys
Wright State University uses student surveys to provide additional information and data to assist and
inform decision making. The National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) is administered to
freshmen and seniors and seeks to measure their level of engagement with other students, faculty,
and the campus environment. NSSE is administered nationally and allows Wright State to compare
itself against similar universities.
The Student Satisfaction Inventory (SSI) is administered to all undergraduates. The SSI seeks to
determine the importance of life on a college campus—academic advising, campus environment,
academic support—and student’s satisfaction with those areas.
The Exit Survey is administered to graduating seniors to assess the students’ satisfaction with the
various administrative offices, quality of education, and preparation for today’s society and job
market.
The Future Plans Survey is administered to recent graduates to determine their plans following
graduation.




