6. Reason for this curriculum action:
Curriculum development workshop with UH-IfA developed stronger course sequence with better pre-req flow. Provides
students best opportunity to meet Program SLOs and ABET accreditation requirements.
Describes program with newly designed Math and Physics courses at the 200 level in the junior year
Describes program with ENG 210 as junior year general education requirement.
Uses MATH 219, PHYS 219, PSY/COM 353, ENG 210, PHIL 301, and ENG 316 as general education courses.
Makes CAPSTONE course two semesters long.
Moves project management course to third semester to support CAPSTONE course.
Modifies some courses from 3 credit lecture to 4 credit lecture/lab

13. Additional Information: Students who successfully complete the ET baccalaureate degree program will be able to:
• analyze, design, and implement electro-optic systems, control systems, instrumentation systems, communication
systems, computer systems, or power systems;
• apply project management techniques to electrical/electronic(s) and computer systems;
• utilize integral and differential calculus, or other appropriate mathematics above the level of algebra and trigonometry to
solve technical problems;
• demonstrate critical engineering technology skills and experiences such as: making existing technology operate,
creating/selecting new technology, troubleshooting, calibrating, characterizing, and optimizing;
• demonstrate engineer's way of thinking, analyzing technology as systems;
• demonstrate engineer professional skills such as communication and managing projects;
• demonstrate proficiency in the general education college core requirements: creativity, critical thinking, oral and written
communication, information retrieval, quantitative reasoning;
• demonstrate a recognition of the need for, and an ability to engage in lifelong learning;
• demonstrate an ability to understand professional, ethical and social responsibilities;
• demonstrate a respect for diversity and a knowledge of contemporary professional, societal and global issues; and
• commit to quality, timeliness, and continuous improvement.
