General Course Objectives To provide individualized supervised work experience, with a weekly seminar to reflect on and share experiences and how they relate to information provided in previous coursework. Responsibilities and depth of personal goals increase with added credits. 6. Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to: a) Articulate the mission, history, and services of the placement agency. b) Examine personal attitudes, beliefs, and feelings concerning clients and coworkers. c) Articulate a working understanding of the strengths-perspective in service provision. d) Demonstrate ability to work under a supervisor and with fellow staff members in carrying out agency services. e) Demonstrate ability to relate effectively with clients and peers during delivery of services. f) Analyze career interests through reading, discussion, and hands-on exposure to the different tasks and jobs in human services. g) Identify and write personal learning objectives in measurable terms. h) Discuss diversity, ethical, and legal issues related to human service work. 7.
