Evidence requirements 1.1 Analysis explains how Learning Languages in the New Zealand Curriculum contributes to the development of key competencies for learners. 1.2 Analysis explains the relationships between the strands and the achievement objectives by level for this learning area in the New Zealand Curriculum. Outcome 2 Plan and implement learning sequences in a school context to meet the achievement objectives of Learning Languages in the New Zealand Curriculum. Evidence requirements 2.1 Learning sequences and teaching strategies in Learning Languages are planned and implemented consistent with at least three examples of effective pedagogy described in the New Zealand Curriculum. 2.2 Planning for learning sequences incorporates language strategies designed to meet the language demands of Learning Languages in the New Zealand Curriculum. This unit standard is language demands include – the specialised vocabulary associated with this learning area; how to read and understand its texts; how to communicate knowledge and ideas in appropriate expiring ways; how to listen and read critically, assessing the value of what Range is heard and read. 2.3 Organisation for, and implementation of, learning sequences and teaching strategies are consistent with health and safety requirements. 2.4 Resources to support planned learning sequences have the potential to have a positive impact on student learning in Learning Languages. Range 3.2 Critique examines the extent to which the achievement objectives were met through the planned learning sequences. 3.3 Own teaching of Learning Languages in the New Zealand Curriculum is evaluated using the teaching as inquiry model for effective pedagogy. 3.4 Critique examines how own teaching of Learning Languages in the New Zealand Curriculum is modified on the basis of experience.
