People credited with this unit standard are, for a bowling green, able to describe: the playing surface requirements; the year round maintenance; fertiliser requirements; and the management of common weeds, pests, and diseases. Description specifies management requirements for irrigation and prevention of heat stress for a bowling green. Range 2.5 frequency, height of cut, pattern, grooming options. Description specifies effects of mowing and rolling on wear tolerance and playing characteristics. Range 2.4 rink movement, usage control, plugging, scrims, species composition. reasons for watering, water requirement, frequency of application, syringing, end watering. Please note Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment.
