Elements and performance criteria Element 1 Describe the playing surface requirements of a cricket pitch. Performance criteria 1.1 Description specifies requirements related to the laws of the game. Range 1.2 dimensions, markings. Description specifies playing performance qualities of a cricket pitch. Range hardness, bounce, pace, smoothness, levelness, uniformity, grass cover. Element 2 Describe the in-season maintenance requirements of a cricket block. Performance criteria 2.1 Description specifies in-season mowing management requirements of a cricket block. Range 2.2 Description specifies irrigation management requirements of a cricket block. Range 2.3 mowing frequency, height of cut, grooming, effect on playing characteristics. rate and frequency of application, method of application, syringing. Description compares various in-season preparation and playing surface management requirements of a cricket block. Range marking, rolling, patching and repairs, covers, playing quality, Saturday to Saturday is contrasted with first class preparation, 1day is contrasted with 3-day preparation.
