Prepare and maintain the setter, associated equipment, and machinery.
performance criteria
1.1
Setter, and associated equipment are cleaned, sanitised, and dried in
accordance with hatchery procedures.
1.2
Samples for microbiological testing are collected, recorded, labelled, and
despatched in accordance with hatchery procedures.
1.3
Setter, associated equipment, and machinery are checked for function, and
faults are identified and repaired or reported, in accordance with hatchery
procedures.
1.4
Routine servicing, maintenance, and calibration of setter, associated
equipment, and machinery are carried out in accordance with manufacturer’s
specifications.
1.5
Setter is preheated to specified temperature in accordance with hatchery
procedures.

2.1
Eggs are moved and placed in the setter in specified setting sequence in
accordance with hatchery procedures.
2.2
Environmental control systems are set to specified levels that optimise egg
development in accordance with hatchery procedures.

Emergency procedures are implemented in the event of setter systems
breakdown in accordance with hatchery procedures.
