standards while orienteering; orienteer white and yellow
grade courses using different maps on unfamiliar sites; and
describe and demonstrate responsible environment, access,
and safety practices.

requirements set out in the New Zealand Environmental
Care Code, Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992,
Injury Prevention, Rehabilitation, and Compensation
Act 2001, and their subsequent amendments. The

The NZOF requires that, in the completion of elements
2 and 3, at least two different maps are used and at
least two unfamiliar sites are used.

NZOF.

The use of handrails is demonstrated.
