Definition
Worksite procedures – operational procedures put in place by the candidate’s
employer. These include site safety procedures, equipment operating procedures,
job procedures, and procedures for the handling and disposal of materials and waste.

Assessment Information
a
All activities must comply with relevant legislative and/or regulatory
requirements, which include, but are not limited to those listed in the references.
b
All work practices must meet documented worksite procedures (where these
exceed code) for personal, product and worksite safety.
c
This unit standard covers refractory linings for ladles, furnaces, and crucibles.

Evidence requirements
2.1
Type of lining material to be repaired is established in accordance with job
specification.
2.2
Defective lining is repaired or replaced in accordance with worksite procedures.

Waste material is packaged, marked, and disposed of in accordance with worksite
procedures.
2.4
Work area is cleaned in accordance with worksite procedures.

Documentation for repair is completed in accordance with worksite procedures.

Crucible is inspected in accordance with worksite procedures.
3.2
Need for replacement of crucible liner is established and reported, in accordance
with worksite procedures.

Crucible liner is replaced in accordance with worksite procedures.

Waste material is packaged, marked, and disposed of in accordance with worksite
procedures.
3.5
Work area is cleaned in accordance with worksite procedures.
