Definition
Worksite procedures – operational procedures put in place by the candidate’s
employer. These include site safety procedures, equipment operating procedures,
job procedures, and procedures for the handling and disposal of materials and waste.

Assessment Information
a
All activities must comply with relevant legislative and/or regulatory
requirements, which include, but are not limited to those listed in the references.
b
All work practices must meet documented worksite procedures (where these
exceed code) for personal, product and worksite safety.
Outcomes and evidence requirements
Outcome 1
Prepare equipment for making expendable wax patterns.
Evidence requirements
1.1
Die for equipment is selected and checked in accordance with job specification.
1.2
Release agent is applied to wax contact surfaces on die in accordance with
worksite procedures.

1.3
Die is set up and located in equipment in accordance with worksite procedures.
1.4
Wax is loaded in heating equipment and heated to operating temperature in
accordance with worksite procedures.
Outcome 2
Make a wax pattern.
Evidence requirements
2.1
Wax is injected into die in accordance with worksite procedures.
2.2
Wax pattern is removed from die when wax is solidified in accordance with
worksite procedures.
2.3
Pattern is inspected for conformance with specification and prepared in
accordance with worksite procedures.
2.4
Any defective patterns are repaired in accordance with worksite procedures.
Outcome 3
Make wax pattern tree assembly.
Evidence requirements
3.1
Sprue for assembly is made to component specification.
3.2
Patterns are attached to sprue in accordance with worksite procedures.
3.3
Tree assembly is stored in accordance with worksite procedures.
