Purpose
People credited with this unit standard are able to: produce transfer and sale
documents for a Licensed Fish Receiver; explain basic obligations and
liabilities of a seafood industry worker producing transfer and sale
documentation, under fisheries legislation and describe the appropriate
actions of an employee of a Licensed Fish Receiver when approached by a
Fisheries Officer.

Elements and performance criteria
Element 1
Produce transfer and sale documents for a Licensed Fish Receiver.
Range
may include but not limited to – stock transfer docket, retail transfer record,
sales invoice, retail sales record;
the documentation is required for one transfer and one sale.
Performance criteria
1.1
Documentation requirements are described in accordance with the Fisheries
(Recordkeeping) Regulations 1990.
1.2
Documents are produced in accordance with the Fisheries (Recordkeeping)
Regulations 1990.
1.3
Documents are produced in accordance with the procedures of the Licensed
Fish Receiver.
Element 2
Explain basic obligations and liabilities of a seafood industry worker producing transfer and
sale documentation, under fisheries legislation.
Performance criteria
2.1
The explanation outlines the importance of accuracy in producing transfer and
sale documents.
2.2
The explanation outlines what constitutes the main offences for a seafood
industry worker in relation to transfer and sale documents.
2.3
The explanation outlines liabilities, defences and penalties for offences
committed by a seafood industry worker completing transfer and sale
documentation.
Range
includes but is not limited to – intent, defences and penalties
contained in Fisheries Act 1996.
Element 3
Describe the appropriate actions of an employee of a Licensed Fish Receiver when
approached by a Fisheries Officer.
Performance criteria
3.1
The description of the employee’s actions is consistent with the procedures of
the Licensed Fish Receiver.
3.2
The description of employee’s actions is consistent with the legislation.

Providers must be accredited by the NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated
authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against
unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment.
Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by the NZQA before they can register
credits from assessment against unit standards.
Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards
must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
