in simulated situations related to an existing fitness
and/or recreation facility or enterprise. If this unit
standard is being assessed in an on-job situation, then
the references to simulated situations may be
considered redundant except in respect of emergency

Competence in this unit standard requires knowledge
of provisions of the Human Rights Act 1993 (HRA) and
the Employment Relations Act 2000 (ERA) relating to
the recruitment, selection and hiring of staff.

Contractual arrangements between facility and trainer meet needs of trainers and
facility requirements.

facility requirements include - maintaining service standards to
facility clients, retaining facility clients, meeting financial goals for
the programme, supporting facility marketing, complying with
statutes, maintaining business confidentiality.

Facilitation of personal trainer development is carried out in accordance with
centre policy through creation of and publicity regarding development
opportunities.

Administration of disciplinary and termination procedures meets requirements
imposed by centre policy, and contractual and statutory obligations.
