People credited with this unit standard are able to prepare caskets for viewing or burial or cremation. Range caskets include but are not limited to – children’s caskets, over-sized caskets, standard caskets. Evidence requirements 1.1 The type and style of casket is selected from the available range of caskets in accordance with the family’s wishes and the physical needs of the deceased. 1.2 The casket is prepared in accordance with any cultural and/or religious beliefs. 1.3 Caskets are upholstered to achieve the desired effect and in accordance with legislative and regulatory requirements. 1.4 The handles are securely and appropriately attached to the casket. 1.5 The name plate is created and attached, and any desired ornamentation appropriately placed on the casket. 1.6 The casket is securely and appropriately labelled to ensure positive identification and able to be viewed while the casket is open.
