Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996;
Land Transport Rule: Dangerous Goods 2005 (Rule 45001/1) amendment 2010,
45001/2, available at http://www.nzta.govt.nz/resources/rules/dangerous-goodsamendment-2010.html.
Any legislation or other requirements superseding any of the above will apply,
pending the review of this unit standard.

context.

Definition
Company procedures refers to all documented policies, procedures, and
methodologies of the candidate’s employer at the time of training including but not
limited to those relating to health, safety, environment, quality, and operations.

Describe and complete documentation for bitumen blends.
Range
includes but is not limited to – dangerous goods declarations, blending
certificates, inwards/outwards goods, cartage/delivery, stock control, quality
assurance.

Evidence requirements
1.1
Legal, company, and customer requirements for documenting inwards,
outwards, and stored goods are described.
1.2
Documentation is completed in accordance with company procedures and
legislative requirements.
Outcome 2
Determine blend components and produce blending certificates.
Range
new blend into empty tank, volume adjustment to existing blend, modification of
existing blend.
Evidence requirements
2.1
Contents in receiving tank, in-coming materials, and components to be added
are determined in accordance with company procedures.
2.2
Volumetric blend is determined to allow for temperature correction.
2.3
Consequences of blending non-compatible bituminous materials are recognised
and documented.
2.4
Blending certificate are produced in accordance with company and customer
requirements.

Providers and Industry Training Organisations, which have been granted consent and
which are assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that
applies to those standards.
Requirements for consent to assess and an outline of the moderation system that applies
to this standard are outlined in the Consent and Moderation Requirements (CMR). The
CMR also includes useful information about special requirements for organisations wishing
to develop education and training programmes, such as minimum qualifications for tutors
and assessors, and special resource requirements.
