Pests refers to pest plants, plant pests, disease organisms. Pest plants refers to unwanted plants that are counter-productive in terms of the agricultural purpose. Plant pests refers to insect and/or other animal plant pests. Disease organisms refers to plant and/or animal disease organisms. Elements and performance criteria Element 1 Describe crop and pasture pest plants and agrichemicals for their control. Performance criteria 1.1 Six pest plants present in crops and pasture are identified and are described in terms of effect on product. 1.2 Agrichemicals to control the identified pest plants are described in terms of key factors. Range key factors – growth stages, crop and pasture growth stages, label directions, formulations, hazard schedule rating, compatibility, solubility, toxicity, volatility, selectivity, target resistance, withholding period, destination market requirements, persistence, re-entry. Element 2 Describe crop plant pests and disease organisms and agrichemicals for their control.
