Six pest plants present in crops and pasture are identified and are described in
terms of effect on product.

Agrichemicals to control the identified pest plants are described in terms of key
factors.
Range
key factors – growth stages, crop and pasture growth stages, label
directions, formulations, hazard schedule rating, compatibility,
solubility, toxicity, volatility, selectivity, target resistance,
withholding period, destination market requirements, persistence,
re-entry.
Element 2
Describe crop plant pests and disease organisms and agrichemicals for their control.
Performance criteria
2.1
Two plant pests and two disease organisms present in crops are identified and
are described in terms of effect on product.
2.2
Agrichemicals to control the identified plant pests and disease organisms
present in crops are described in terms of key factors.
Range
key factors – plant pest lifecycles, disease organism lifecycles,
type of crop and crop growth stages, lifecycles of beneficial insects
and/or other animals, label directions, formulations, hazard
schedule rating, compatibility, solubility, toxicity, volatility,

Please note
Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated
authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against
unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment.
Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register
credits from assessment against unit standards.
Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards
must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
Accreditation requirements and an outline of the moderation system that applies to this
standard are outlined in the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP). The
AMAP also includes useful information about special requirements for organisations
wishing to develop education and training programmes, such as minimum qualifications for
tutors and assessors, and special resource requirements.
