People credited with this unit standard are able to: prepare to inspect damage; inspect trim and write out a job sheet; estimate the cost of damage; prepare a quotation; and cost a job. These requirements include but are not limited to – company specifications and procedures, work instructions, manufacturer specifications, product quality specifications, and legislative requirements. Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Prepare to inspect damage. Evidence requirements 1.1 Vehicle details are identified and noted to enable materials to be procured in accordance with vehicle manufacturer specifications and company requirements. Range 1.2 trim code, mileage, make, customer details. Trim is cleaned to enable damage to be inspected in accordance with company requirements. Evidence requirements 2.1 Customer instructions are identified and verified in accordance with company requirements. 2.2 Trim damage is identified and noted, and no damage is missed in accordance with company requirements. 2.3 Method of repair is identified in accordance with material manufacturer specifications and company requirements. Range repair, replace, restore, outwork repairs. 2.4 Parts to be removed to enable the job to be carried out are identified and noted in accordance with company requirements. 2.5 Job sheet is written and interpreted in accordance with company requirements. Outcome 3 Estimate the cost of damage. Evidence requirements 3.1 Equipment is identified and used for calculation of the estimate. Range 3.2 Estimate is calculated in accordance with company requirements. Range 3.3 computer program, calculator. material, labour, sundries, outwork, parts, GST. Estimate meets legislative requirements and is submitted to the customer in accordance with company requirements. Range customers may include but are not limited to – insurance assessor, company, private customer. Outcome 4 Prepare a quotation. Evidence requirements 4.1 Job details are identified and noted in accordance with company requirements. 4.2 Equipment is identified and used for the calculation of the quotation. Outcome 5 Cost a job. Evidence requirements 5.1 Job details are obtained and recorded in accordance with company requirements. Range 5.2 person/s that completed the job, date/s of work, details of job, labour time and rate, parts and materials costs, sundry items, outwork. Job is costed and invoice is prepared in accordance with company requirements. Range 5.3 itemised clearly, easily understood by customer, conforms to legislation, fairly reflects the work to be carried out. The completed invoice is set out and presented to the customer in accordance with company requirements.
