Performance criteria 1.1 Uses of a hydraulic jack are identified in accordance with equipment manufacturer specifications. Range 1.2 Principles of hydraulic jack operation are identified in accordance with equipment manufacturer specifications. Range 1.3 push and pull vehicle structures to shape. pump and ram, chains, attachments. Uses of a hydraulic ram and how it operates in conjunction with other equipment are identified in accordance with equipment manufacturer specifications. Range other equipment may include but is not limited to – body realignment machines, vehicle lifting devices. 1.4 The importance of jack capacity and matching attachments when repairing vehicles is explained in accordance with equipment manufacturer specifications. 1.5 Chains used with a hydraulic jack are identified in accordance with equipment manufacturer specifications. Range single hook, double hook, chain sizes. 1.6 Function of each attachment is described in accordance with equipment manufacturer specifications. 1.7 Safety precautions when using a hydraulic jack and attachments are identified in relation to personal safety and safety of others. Please note Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment. Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards.
