Describe the process for declaring, extending, and terminating a state

Purpose
This unit standard is intended for Civil Defence Emergency
Management (CDEM) personnel that need to know the
advantages of the declaration of a state of emergency. People
credited with this unit standard are able to identify and describe
what constitutes a state of emergency, and the process for
declaring, extending and terminating a state of emergency.

1
Candidate evidence must comply with the Civil Defence Emergency Management
Act 2002 (CDEM Act 2002), Local Government Act 2002, and subsequent
amendments, the National Civil Defence Emergency Management Plan Order 2005,
and the Civil Defence Emergency Management Regulations 2003.

Emergency is as defined in section 4 of the CDEM Act 2002.

which are assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that
applies to those standards.
Consent requirements and an outline of the moderation system that applies to this
standard are outlined in the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP). The
AMAP also includes useful information about special requirements for organisations
wishing to develop education and training programmes, such as minimum qualifications for
tutors and assessors, and special resource requirements.
