People credited with this unit standard are able to organise and supervise the routine removal of waste and/or recyclables from the kerbside. Range personnel, equipment, administrative support. 1.2 Organisation ensures that vehicles and equipment comply with statutory requirements and company maintenance procedures. 1.3 Organisation ensures that removal personnel are trained for competence in accordance with legislation and company procedures. Range 1.4 Organisation of contingency measures in the event of disruption is demonstrated in accordance with the contingency plan and company procedures. Range 1.5 competence includes but is not limited to – following operating procedures, hazard assessment, personal protective equipment, manual handling, physical fitness; may include – licence class, licence endorsement, log book compliance. disruptions include – weather, equipment failure, route interruption, roading restrictions, peak flow traffic; evidence is required of two contingencies. Organisation ensures that product and service quality are monitored and corrective action is taken in accordance with company procedures. Range product may include but is not limited to – domestic waste, commercial waste, industrial waste, paper, metal, plastic, glass; service may include but is not limited to – coverage of target area in specified time or day. Outcome 2 Supervise the routine removal of waste and/or recyclables from the kerbside. Evidence requirements 2.1 The removal of waste and/or recyclables is supervised in accordance with the TMP.
