Purpose
People credited with this unit standard are able to: test a
computer application according to test plans; record the results
from testing a computer application; and review the testing
process for a computer application. The performance of all
outcomes is to a standard that is expected in a professional
environment.

The term computer application refers to any significant computer application, e.g. an
accounting system, commercial quality entertainment, or graphics manipulation
program.

Test a computer application according to test plans.
Evidence requirements
1.1
Operational steps identified in the test plan are executed.
1.2
The input data used in testing is as specified in the test plan.
1.3
Deviations from the test plan are identified and explained.
1.4
The test follows the standards and procedures specified in the test plan to
testing and retesting.
Outcome 2
Record the results from testing a computer application.
Evidence requirements
2.1
The records are provided for all tests executed.
2.2
The records identify variations from expected test results and gives reasons
where available.
2.3
The recorded results are reproduced if the tests are repeated under the same
conditions.
2.4
The results are recorded in a way that allows the results to be reviewed.
