Evidence requirements 1.1 Maintenance requirements are determined for conveyors in accordance with manufacturer's instructions or onsite requirements related to the construction of the conveyors. Outcome 2 Describe hazards associated with the maintenance of conveyors at an extractive site. Range must include but are not limited to – nip/pinch points, stored energy, fire, moving parts, falling objects, working at heights, poor housekeeping, unplanned movement, inappropriate use of equipment. Evidence requirements 2.1 Significant hazards associated with the maintenance of conveyors are described. 2.2 Methods of controlling hazards are described in accordance with industry best practice and company procedures. Range includes but is not limited to – isolation and lock-out procedures. Outcome 3 Carry out maintenance on conveyors at an extractive site. Evidence requirements 3.1 Isolation and lock-out procedures are carried out in accordance with industry best practice and company procedures. Range energy source isolation, roll back prevention. 3.2 The work area is prepared in readiness for maintenance work to be carried out. 3.3 Maintenance is carried out on conveyors in accordance with identified requirements, manufacturer's instructions, industry best practice, and company procedures. Range may include but is not limited to – lubrication points, changing screen media, skirting, belt joining, housekeeping, use of appropriate tools and equipment. Evidence requirements 4.1 Belts are tracked and tensioned on conveyors safely in accordance with industry best practice and company procedures. may include but are not limited to – size of product, condition of product, wet or dry conditions, wear and tear, housekeeping, guarding. Range 4.2 The belt is given a test run to ensure the tracking and tension is correct in accordance with company procedures. Outcome 5 Restore conveyors to operational status at an extractive site and complete documentation relevant to maintenance of conveyors. Evidence requirements 5.1 Isolation and lock-out devices are removed and conveyors are restored to operational status in accordance with industry best practice and company procedures. 5.2 Documentation for maintenance of conveyors is completed in accordance with industry best practice and company procedures.
