knowledge of self-reflection, and apply self-reflection in own

Definitions
Health or wellbeing setting includes but is not limited to – the aged care, acute care,
community support, disability, mental health, social services and youth development
sectors.
Organisational policies and procedures – policies, procedures, and methodologies of
an organisation. They include legislative and regulatory requirements which may
apply across a company, a specific site, or a workplace. Requirements are
documented in the company’s health and safety plans, contract work programmes,
quality assurance programmes, policies, and procedural documents and codes of
ethics.

Outcomes and evidence requirements
Outcome 1
Demonstrate knowledge of self-reflection in a health or wellbeing setting.
Evidence requirements
1.1
The purpose of self-reflection is described in terms the benefits to the candidate
and the organisation.
1.2
The process of self-reflection is described in terms of a recognised model.
Range
1.3
models may include but are not limited to – Gibbs Reflective
Cycle, Johns (2000) Model for structured reflection, Rolfe et al
(2001) Framework for reflection;
evidence is required of one model.
Boundaries of self-reflection are described in terms of legislative requirements
and/or organisational policies and procedures.
Range
legislative requirements may include – privacy, confidentiality.
Outcome 2
Apply self-reflection in own role within a team in a health or wellbeing setting.
Evidence requirements
2.1
Feedback is sought from others to support own self-reflection in accordance
with organisational policies and procedures.
Range
others may include but are not limited to – mentors and/or other
professionals, peers, person being supported and/or their
family/whānau.
2.2
Reflection on own role within a team identifies the influence of own behaviours
on others in the team.
2.3
Reflection on own role within a team identifies the influence of own behaviours
on the effectiveness of the team to achieve its goals.
2.4
The process of self-reflection is evaluated in terms of its effectiveness.

Providers must be granted consent to assess against standards (accredited) by NZQA,
before they can report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses
of study leading to that assessment.
Industry Training Organisations must be granted consent to assess against standards by
NZQA before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards.
Providers and Industry Training Organisations, which have been granted consent and
which are assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that
applies to those standards.
Requirements for consent to assess and an outline of the moderation system that applies
to this standard are outlined in the Consent and Moderation Requirements (CMRs). The
CMR also includes useful information about special requirements for organisations wishing
