They include legislative and regulatory requirements applicable to the company or a specific site. Requirements are documented in the company’s health and safety plans, traffic management plans, contract work programmes, quality assurance programmes, policies, and procedural documents. Technical instructions mean the defined procedures for the method of carrying out the construction process. For this unit standard instructions may be defined in manufacturers’ instructions, safety data sheets, company instructions, legislation, regulations, or Department of Labour Codes of Practice. Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Confirm notifiable work for an infrastructure works site. Evidence requirements 1.1 Notifiable work requirements are confirmed in accordance with technical instructions. Outcome 2 Confirm and carry out permit requirements on an infrastructure works site. Evidence requirements 2.1 Permit requirements are confirmed in accordance with technical instructions. 2.2 Site is visually inspected to confirm the types of protection required in accordance with legislative requirements and technical instructions. 2.3 Any additional requirements are determined to match site conditions and reported in accordance with company requirements. 2.4 Confirmation ensures that permit documentation has been obtained in accordance with company requirements and is on site prior to commencing work. 2.5 All site personnel are briefed on specific requirements of permits in accordance with company requirements. 2.6 Services and obstructions on site are identified in accordance with legislative requirements and technical instructions. 2.7 Visual inspections are undertaken to confirm that instructions have been carried out in accordance with legislative requirements and technical instructions.
