Legislation relevant to this unit standard may include but is not limited to: Health and

1993; Privacy Act 1993; Employment Relations Act 2000.

To demonstrate competence in this unit standard, a candidate must be able to
provide evidence that they have contributed to the quality management of projects.
This will include evidence of working with others to develop quality plans and quality
assurance mechanisms for the project; monitoring and controlling quality within the
project against requirements, and acting on identified problems and/or issues;
contributing to continuous improvement; and reviewing quality on project completion
and closure. This contribution may be within the candidate's own area of expertise or
across several aspects of the project. Evidence may be gathered from the
candidate's contribution to several simultaneous projects, or to one project over an
extended period of time.

Definitions
Organisational requirements refer to instructions to staff on policy and procedures
which are documented in memo or manual format and are available in the workplace.
These requirements include but are not limited to – site specific requirements, and
company quality management requirements.
Delegated authority means authority within established organisational framework,
procedures and routines; under limited guidance and supervision; within agreed
authorisation and limits; in a multi-disciplinary environment subject to frequent
change.

Outcomes and evidence requirements
Outcome 1
Contribute to quality planning for a project.
Evidence requirements
1.1
Contribution assists in determining quality requirements of project stakeholders.
1.2
Contribution assists in establishing quantifiable quality criteria for project
outcomes and objectives.
1.3
Information is sourced to locate and interpret quality policy and procedures in
accordance with organisational requirements.

1.4
information may include – project quality guidelines and
instructions; designated standard operating procedures and
regulations; organisational quality management policy and
guidelines as applied to specific requirements of a project;
organisation and project standards.
Contribution assists in the development of quality requirements in the project
plan and processes.
Outcome 2
Apply quality standards to a project.
Evidence requirements
2.1
Quality assurance is implemented within the project in accordance with
delegated authority, and agreed quality standards and guidelines.

2.2
Records and documentation are maintained in accordance with agreed
procedures to facilitate quality control and to provide an audit trail in accordance
with organisational requirements.

2.3
quality assurance may include – a systematic review of the project
management process to ensure compliance with organisational
policy and guidelines; a project finalisation process to capture
lessons learned and enable continuous improvement.
quality control may include – monitoring conformance with the
specification; inspections and audits in compliance with guidelines;
reporting of variances; recommended ways to eliminate causes of
unsatisfactory performance of products or processes; regular
inspection by the individual or the monitoring of inspections by
internal or external agents.
Results of project activities and product or service performance are documented
and evaluated to determine compliance with agreed quality standards.

Any shortfalls in quality outcomes are reported to other parties to enable
appropriate action to be initiated in accordance with organisational
requirements.

Assistance is provided in the ongoing review of the project outcomes to
