Safety in Employment Act 1992; Resource Management Act 1991; Human Rights Act
1993; Privacy Act 1993; Employment Relations Act 2000.

To demonstrate competence in this unit standard a candidate must be able to
provide evidence that they have contributed to the management of the scope of a
project. This will include evidence of working with others to define and document the
scope, including the planned outcomes of the project; working within the project plan
and tracking and monitoring and controlling of the project with respect to the scope of
the project; and applying scope controls within the project, as required. This
contribution may be within the candidate’s own area of expertise or across several
aspects of the project. Evidence may be gathered from the candidate's contribution
to several simultaneous projects, or to one project over an extended period of time.

Definitions
Project deliverables refer to products and services defined within the project scope.
Organisational requirements refer to instructions to staff on policy and procedures
which are documented in memo or manual format and are available in the workplace.
These requirements include but are not limited to – site specific requirements and
company quality management requirements.

Evidence requirements
1.1
Project deliverables are identified in accordance with project objectives and
organisational requirements.
1.2
Measurable outcomes are identified to enable evaluation of project
performance.
1.3
Contributions assist in the development of the scope management plan.
Range
scope management plan may include – project objectives;
deliverables, activities and tasks; constraints and assumptions;
work organisation and/or product break-down structures; project
benefits and outcomes.

Apply project scope controls to a project.
Evidence requirements
2.1
Work is undertaken in accordance with agreed project management plan using
established procedures for change control and performance measurement.
Range
procedures for change control may include – identifying
designated elements of the project liable to change, for example
finance and duration of tasks; adjusting designated project
documentation, for example plans, schedules, directives,
guidelines and instructions, including change instructions, change
request procedures and nominated change authorities.
Procedures for performance measurement may include – using
tools and techniques to manage and measure project progress in
terms of time and resources.
2.2
Aspects of project scope are monitored and controlled, and any instances of
non-compliance with defined scope are communicated to the project manager
in accordance with organisational requirements.
2.3
Progress is measured against established outcomes to determine potential,
perceived, and actual scope changes in accordance with organisational
requirements.
2.4
Any scope changes are reported in accordance with organisational
requirements.
2.5
Assistance is provided in the review of project outcomes to determine the
effectiveness of scope management approaches in accordance with project
objectives and organisational requirements.

Providers must be granted consent to assess against standards (accredited) by NZQA,
before they can report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses
of study leading to that assessment.
Industry Training Organisations must be granted consent to assess against standards by
NZQA before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards.
Providers and Industry Training Organisations, which have been granted consent and
which are assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that
applies to those standards.

to this standard are outlined in the Consent and Moderation Requirements (CMR). The
