Range
Composite materials may include – engineered stone, acrylic, polyester, ceramics,
glass, granite, marble, concrete;
evidence is required of three, the same three composite materials must be used for
all evidence requirements in this standard..

manufactured boards used in furniture operations.

and their origins are explained.

cost, durability and fitness for purpose.

Suitable end uses of composite materials are explained in terms of their cost,
durability, visual impact and fitness for purpose.

Explain the handling, fitting, repair and maintenance of composite materials used in

Evidence requirements
2.1
Handling requirements to avoid edge and face damage are explained for
composite materials.
2.2
Methods of fitting composite materials are explained in terms of jointing
methods and adhesives used.
2.3
Care of composite materials is explained in terms of repair and maintenance
requirements.
