People credited with this unit standard are able to demonstrate
knowledge of risk management in an organisation, in terms of
AS/NZS ISO 31000: 2009 Risk management – Principles and
guidelines.
This unit standard is for people who have or seek foundation
knowledge and understanding of risk management principles
and processes that are generic to multiple contexts, and who
may intend to progress with higher level application of risk
management principles.

Organisation refers to a business entity which may be – in private, public, or community
and volunteer sectors; a business unit, Māori, or other special-purpose body.

Assessment materials must reflect relevant and current legislation, standards,
regulations, acknowledged industry and/or business practices, policies and
procedures, and specific legislation relevant to an organisation;
Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992; and amendments and replacement
legislation;
Privacy Act 1993;
Standards Act 1988.

Providers must be granted consent to assess against standards (accredited) by NZQA,
before they can report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses
