People credited with this unit standard are able to describe: the NZCF organisation; the history of the NZCF; NZCF activities; methods used to acknowledge achievement in the corps of the NZCF; and the NZCF Code of Behaviour. Performance criteria 1.1 The description identifies the structure and role of NZCF Headquarters and area offices. 1.2 The description identifies the personnel and their responsibilities at NZCF Headquarters and area offices. 1.3 The description identifies the badges of rank of one Corps of the NZCF. Range one of SCC, NZCC, ATC. Element 2 Describe the history of the NZCF. Performance criteria 2.1 The description identifies major events in the history of the NZCF. Range 2.2 The description identifies major events in the history of a selected Corps. Range 2.3 minimum of six events that must include – origin of the NZCF, World War One, World War Two, consequences of the 1990 Defence Act. one of SCC, NZCC, ATC; minimum of six events that must include origin of the Corps. The description identifies major events in the history of the home cadet unit. Range one of SCC, NZCC, ATC; minimum of six events that must include – origin of the unit, personnel, regional/national achievements (if any). Element 3 Describe NZCF activities. Performance criteria 3.1 The description identifies authorised activities of the NZCF. Range junior, senior, advanced, outdoor, sail charge; evidence of three is required. Element 4 Describe the methods used to acknowledge achievement in the corps of the NZCF. Range one of SCC, NZCC, ATC. Performance criteria 4.1 The description identifies the awards and the conditions required to achieve them. Range 4.2 Corp’s certificates, Commandant’s certificate, medals. The description identifies the badges of skill and the methods used to achieve them. Element 5 Describe the NZCF Code of Behaviour. Performance criteria 5.1 The description identifies eight acceptable behaviours in accordance with the Code of Behaviour. 5.2 The description identifies the values encouraged in the NZCF in accordance with the Code of Behaviour. 5.3 The description identifies the disciplinary procedures as set out in the NZCF Code of Behaviour. Range types of approved discipline, approved methods of applying disciplinary measures. Please note Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment. Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards. Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
