Classification Design > Generic Design Available grade Achieved Explanatory notes 1 Credit for this unit standard requires a realistic client and designer project to be taken through to a conclusion. 2 It is suggested that activities associated with attaining this unit standard be combined with other activities involving the design development, realisation, and presentation phases of a project. 3 Examples of design specifications which could be included in the design brief in order to attain this unit standard are: dimensions, materials, time, cost, aesthetics, functional details, physical constraints, environmental and cultural considerations, ergonomics, and market requirements. Evidence requirements 1.1 Establishment of active communication enables the client’s needs to be assessed. 1.2 Objectives identified comply with the client’s requirements. 1.3 Agreed framework established enables writing of the brief.
