Purpose
This unit standard is for people who are currently working, or who intend to
work, in jobs which involve palletising packaged food and related products to
fulfil mixed orders.
People credited with this unit standard are able to: plan to build a mixed
pallet of food or related products; build a mixed pallet of food or related
products; produce and attach pallet identification labels to a mixed pallet of
food or related products; and wrap and secure a mixed pallet of food or
related products.

Element 1
Plan to build a mixed pallet of food or related products.
Performance criteria
1.1
The plan is in accordance with the product orders, in terms of the products to be
palletised, and the drop sequence.
1.2
The plan is in accordance with the company operating procedures in terms of
the placement of packages, and the potential for product damage.
1.3
The plan is in accordance with the company safety policies and procedures.
1.4
The plan is in accordance with the company quality assurance policies and
procedures.
Element 2
Build a mixed pallet of food or related products.
Performance criteria
2.1
The pallet is built in accordance with the plan, product orders, and drop
sequence.
2.2
The pallet is built, and shortfalls handled, in accordance with the company
operating procedures.
2.3
The pallet is built in accordance with the company safety policies and
procedures.
2.4
The pallet is built in accordance with the company quality assurance policies
and procedures.
2.5
The pallet is built in accordance with the company order and delivery
requirements.

Element 3
Produce and attach pallet identification labels to a mixed pallet of food or related products.
Performance criteria
3.1
The pallet identification label produced and attached is consistent with the
contents of the pallet.
3.2
The pallet identification label is produced and attached in accordance with the
company operating procedures.
Element 4
Wrap and secure a mixed pallet of food or related products.
Performance criteria
4.1
The mixed pallet of food or related products is wrapped and secured in
accordance with the company operating procedures.
4.2
The mixed pallet of food or related products is wrapped and secured in
accordance with the company safety policies and procedures.
Please note
Providers must be accredited by the Qualifications Authority, or an inter-institutional body
with delegated authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from
assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment.
Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by the Qualifications Authority before
they can register credits from assessment against unit standards.
Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards
must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.

standard are outlined in the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP). The
