Performance criteria 2.1 Properties of explosives are identified. Range 2.2 Implosive jointing products are described in terms of their appropriate uses. Range 2.3 MSDS, emergency procedures, land, air, construction. Explosive products and initiation systems for implosive jointing are described. Range 2.4 initiation properties, shelf life, appropriate uses, material safety data sheets (MSDS), technical data sheets. compatibility, burning speed, MSDS, technical data sheets. Personal protective equipment is described in terms of its purpose in relation to explosives for implosive jointing. Range safety glasses, hearing protection, overalls, gloves, boots, safety helmet. Element 3 Describe emergency, misfire, and communication procedures for firing shots for implosive jointing. Performance criteria 3.1 Emergency procedures for implosive jointing are described in accordance with industry requirements. Range may include but are not limited to – warning signage, communication systems. Range 3.3 acknowledged, reported, and recorded for isolation, recovery, disposal. Communication and recording procedures for all stages of assembly, placement, firing and misfiring are described in accordance with industry requirements. Element 4 Interpret the scope of work for jointing electricity network overhead conductors. Performance criteria 4.1 Conductor is identified in accordance with industry requirements. Range 4.2 size, type. Joint is selected in accordance with industry requirements. Range rating, size, type. Element 5 Prepare, and implosively joint, electricity network overhead conductors. Performance criteria 5.1 Conductor is cleaned in accordance with industry requirements. 5.2 Conductor strands are separated and prepared in accordance with industry requirements. 5.3 Implosive joints are completed in accordance with industry requirements. Range 5.4 Safe practices are demonstrated for reducing exposure to hazards and minimising the danger from explosives during implosive jointing work in accordance with industry requirements.
