Classification Design > Design - Computer Graphics Available grade Achieved Explanatory notes 1 This unit standard may be used to award credit for the achievement of learning outcomes consistent with Technology in the New Zealand Curriculum (Learning Media Wellington, 1995). 2 The term ‘graphics program’ refers to any computer application that contains drawing and painting tools which can be used to meet the evidence requirements. Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Select and prepare graphics programs for the production of design ideas and images. Evidence requirements 1.1 Graphics programs selected and loaded are suitable for the design task. 1.2 Graphics program which has been set-up suits the design task in relation to rulers, grid, graphics tools, and page size. Outcome 2 Use draw functions to produce design ideas and images. Evidence requirements 2.1 Ideas and images created using program drawing tools suit the design task. Range tools - line, circle, rectangle, polygon, text. Range examples of transformations and/or manipulations are - move, resize, reshape, rotate, modify lines and layers. Outcome 3 Use paint functions to produce design ideas and images. Evidence requirements 3.1 Use of program paint tools produces ideas and images which suit the design task. Range 3.2 examples are - brush, pencil, spray, colour section. Transformed ideas and images conform to design requirements. Outcome 4 Print and save files. Evidence requirements 4.1 Printing requirements selected are suitable for the design and images in terms of page size, orientation, quantity, and quality of print. 4.2 Printed copy is verified, and corrected where necessary, to suit design requirements. 4.3 Graphics file is saved in accordance with site requirements.
