Purpose
People credited with this unit standard are able to: demonstrate
knowledge of the duties and responsibilities of key persons
involved in a construction site operation; explain staff
supervision systems on a construction site operation; explain
processes for the supervision of subcontractors on a
construction site operation; supervise site personnel and
workplace activity on a construction site operation; and
implement quality assurance procedures.

1
Definitions
A construction site operation may form part of an organisation’s activities or it may
constitute a complete organisation.
Contract documentation refers to plans and drawings, contract drawings, work or
product specifications relating to the specified construction site operation.
On-site refers to a wide range of building and construction environments within which
trade skills are applied.
Organisation may refer to any business engaging, controlling, or employing people in
a building and construction environment.
Work site practice refers to the documented procedures specific to a work site which
set out the standard and required practices of that work site.

Practical elements of this unit standard may be assessed on the basis of evidence of
demonstrated performance in the workplace or in simulated work situations designed
to draw upon similar performance to that required in a workplace.

construction process are described, for a construction site operation.

Evidence requirements
3.1
The elements of contract documentation that involve on-site subcontractors are
explained for a construction site operation.

Evidence requirements
4.1
Upcoming activities are identified and planned for in accordance with the
construction programme.

subcontractors, and management in accordance with work site practice.
4.3
Performance is monitored against defined work requirements in accordance
with work site practice.
4.4
Subcontractors and site personnel are instructed in areas of non-compliance in
accordance with contract documentation and work site practice.
4.5
Construction progress is documented according to contract documentation and
work site practice.
4.6
Supervision is in accordance with work site practice.
Outcome 5
Implement quality assurance procedures.
Evidence requirements
5.1
Quality assurance checklists are used in accordance with work site practice.
5.2
The project quality assurance requirements are followed in accordance with
