purpose:
This unit standard is for people who work in the motor
industry. People credited with this unit standard are able to
remove a lamp on a motor vehicle, and replace a lamp on a
motor vehicle.

Remove a lamp on a motor vehicle.
performance criteria
1.1
Tools are selected to enable the lamp to be removed, and used according to the
vehicle manufacturer’s specifications.
1.2
Method of attachment and wiring connection is identified, and the lamp is
removed according to the vehicle manufacturer’s specifications.
Range:
may include but is not limited to – front and rear park lamps, rear
and high stop lamps, direction indicator lamps, hazard warning
lamps, reversing lamps, number plate lamps, side and cab marker
lamps, revolving marker lamps, night parking lamps, day time
running lamps; cab roof, map reading, footwell, door marker, key
illumination, fade-out systems, bus interior illumination.

Serviceable lamp is stored without damage until it is refitted.
1.4
Damaged lamp is disposed of according to company policy.

2.2
Lamp is positioned and attached according to legislative requirements, and
wiring is identified and connected according to the vehicle manufacturer’s
specifications.
Range:
may include but is not limited to – front and rear park lamps, rear
and high stop lamps, direction indicator lamps, hazard warning
lamps, reversing lamps, number plate lamps, side and cab marker
lamps, revolving marker lamps, night parking lamps, day time
running lamps; cab roof, map reading, footwell, door marker, key
illumination, fade-out systems, bus interior illumination.
2.3
Head lamps, fog and spot lamps are adjusted to comply with legislative
requirements.
2.4
Lamp is operating according to legislative requirements and vehicle
manufacturer’s specifications.
2.5
Safe working practices are carried out throughout the tasks according to
legislative requirements.
