Legislation relevant to this unit standard is the Health and Safety in Employment Act
1992, and the Employment Relations
Act 2000. Other legislation may apply,

Definitions
Organising refers to working towards a structured and collective network of
employees in a workplace united around common interest and union membership.
Organising activity refers to an interaction with other employees carried out within a
broader plan to increase workplace collectivity. Examples of organising activities
may include but are not limited to: setting up and collecting signatures for a petition,
running a union meeting, conducting a workplace survey, arranging a leaflet drop.
