Range: 1.2 Safe working practices are carried out throughout the cleaning operation according to legislative requirements. Range: 1.3 hand cleaning, machine cleaning; small component, large component, material type, reaction against chemicals and heat, sealed component, open component. handling of cleaning medium; chemical storage; protection against breathing vapours; protection against heat; protection to skin, eyes, feet, and clothes. Automotive electrical and electronic componentry are protected against damage before the cleaning operation is commenced. Range: heat, chemical, and water ingress. 1.4 Equipment and machines are operated according to the product manufacturer’s instructions. 1.5 Automotive components are cleaned so that foreign matter is removed. 1.6 Waste is removed from the cleaning area in an environmentally safe manner. Range: removal of grease, oil, dirt and sludge from holding and cleaning tanks; topping up and renewing cleaning medium; checking the operation of cleaning machine; maintenance of hoses and leads.
