Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Identify and take precautions against operation hazards in accordance with enterprise procedure. Evidence requirements 1.1 The consequences and dangers of heating plastics materials in a thermoforming machine are identified, and precautions are taken. Outcome 2 Perform process operations. Evidence requirements 2.1 The thermoforming process cycle is described. Range process cycle may include – sheet feeding, sheet heating, mould actuation, forming, part stacking, part trimming, cooling, ejection. 2.2 Enterprise terminology is used to describe product, production, and equipment. 2.3 Post-moulding operations are performed in accordance with enterprise procedure. Range post-moulding operations may include – product removal, product inspection, product finishing, product packaging, scrap processing. 2.4 Roll or sheet stock is loaded with no damage to the plant, personnel, or material in accordance with enterprise procedure. 2.5 Emergency stopping of the thermoforming machine and ancillary equipment is demonstrated in accordance with enterprise procedure. Range 2.6 evidence may be simulated if required. Production recording is carried out in accordance with enterprise procedure. Outcome 3 Demonstrate knowledge of granulating material trimmings in accordance with enterprise procedure. Evidence requirements 3.1 Material trimmings are identified. 3.2 The purpose and principle of the operation of material trim granulating equipment are described. 3.3 Personal protective equipment requirements for use when operating material trim granulating equipment are described.
