Range evidence is required for at least two types of trenchless pipe installation. Performance criteria 1.1 The equipment used in trenchless pipe installation is described in terms of its purpose and alternative equipment. 1.2 Pipe installation using trenchless pipe technology is described in terms of the sequence of tasks required to ensure pipe alignment. 1.3 Pipe types used in trenchless pipe installation are described in terms of their suitability. 1.4 The safety requirements of trenchless pipe installation are described in terms of organisational procedures, legislative requirements, and manufacturer’s instructions. Element 2 Describe the equipment used, sequence of operation, material handling, and safety requirements for pipe refurbishment or maintenance. Performance criteria 2.1 The equipment used in pipe refurbishment or maintenance is described in terms of their purpose and alternatives. Range 2.2 evidence is required for at least two types of pipes. The sequence of tasks required to prepare for refurbishment or maintenance, and refurbish or maintain pipes using pipe refurbishment or maintenance technology, is described in terms of the pipe material. Range one of – cast iron, ductile iron, steel, asbestos, concrete. Range 2.4 evidence is required for at least two types of pipes. The safety requirements of pipe refurbishment or maintenance are described in terms of organisational procedures, legislative requirements, manufacturer’s instructions, and codes of practice. Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards.
