Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Describe the consequences of law breaking. Evidence requirements 1.1 Laws are described in terms of the organisations that enforce them. Range 1.2 one law from each – Police, Central Government, Local Government. Legal consequences are described in terms of breaking each of the identified laws. Evidence requirements 2.1 Three powers and functions are identified for each of the law enforcement organisations. Range Police, Central Government, Local Government. Outcome 3 Describe rights, obligations, and procedures in relation to Police law enforcement. Evidence requirements 3.1 A person’s rights and obligations are described in terms of Police law enforcement. one of – for a person over 17 years of age, for a person under 17 years of age; at least one right and one obligation in relation to each of – being stopped, being questioned, being searched, being arrested, when called upon for assistance, as a witness. Range 3.2 Procedures which must be followed by the Police when questioning, arresting, and charging are described according to legislation. one of – for a person over 17 years of age, for a person under 17 years of age. Range 3.3 Description identifies procedure for making a complaint against the Police. Industry Training Organisations must be granted consent to assess against standards by NZQA before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards. Providers and Industry Training Organisations, which have been granted consent and which are assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
