The context of this unit standard is that of the candidate
advising a client on the purchase or lease of a vehicle.
The client may be the candidate’s employer, or another
person or organisation for whom they are acting as an
agent or adviser, or the candidate may undertake the
exercise on their own behalf.

requirements,

codes
of
practice,
organisational and/or site requirements, industry best
practices, and manufacturers’ instructions. These must
be available to candidates, providers, and assessors;
A road transport operation may form part of a road
transport organisation or it may constitute a complete
organisation.

service life, depreciation, carrying capacity, nature of load, loading
and unloading considerations, expected topography and road
conditions, dimensions, power requirements, maintenance
requirements and availability of spare parts, safety, ergonomic
design of seats and controls, configuration, age of vehicle, braking
and auxiliary braking, transmission type, compatibility with existing
fleet.
Selection criteria are consistent with the client’s financial constraints and
revenue projections from servicing customers.

vehicle, rental service vehicle, vehicle recovery vehicle, heavy
goods service vehicle, off road vehicle.
