Evidence requirements 1.1 A definition of data types distinguishes between them and includes examples. Range 1.2 A description of the use of coding systems in a business environment distinguishes categories of coding systems and includes examples. Range 1.3 data types include – alphabetic, alphanumeric, numeric, integer, floating point, real, binary, character, digit, date, time, Boolean. coding systems may include but are not limited to – ASCII, Unicode, barcodes, two dimensional barcodes, UPC, ISBN. A minimum of three coding systems. Data manipulation operations are performed on numeric data types. Range manipulation operations include – addition, subtraction, multiplication, division. The description explains the effect of operators on data structures. operators include – amend, insert, delete, retrieve; data structures include – array, stack, queue, list, tree.
