1
Legislative requirements relevant to this unit standard include:
Land Transport Act 1998;
Land Transport (Offences and Penalties) Regulations 1999;
Land Transport (Driver Licensing) Rule 1999;
Land Transport Rule: Operator Licensing 2007;
Land Transport Rule: Work Time and Logbooks 2007.

Any existing, new, amended, or replacement legislation, standards, codes of
practice, or NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) requirements or conditions affecting this
unit standard will take precedence for assessment purposes, pending review of this
unit standard.

Where assessment against this unit standard is conducted for the purpose of
meeting the requirements for a driver licence:
 Candidates acknowledge that competency in this unit standard will not, on its
own, enable them to obtain a driver licence. They will also need to meet the
relevant driver licence legislative requirements.
 Candidates must have completed the minimum training course requirements as
determined by NZTA prior to commencing assessment.

legislation and/or Land Transport Rules.

Outcome 1
Demonstrate knowledge of driver requirements for endorsement V (vehicle recovery).
Evidence requirements
1.1
The description includes the display requirements of a driver identification card
consistent with legislation.
1.2
The description includes the grounds for suspension or revocation of driver
licence or vehicle recovery endorsement consistent with legislation.
1.3
The description includes the requirement to surrender a driver identification card
consistent with legislation.
1.4
The description includes the driver’s responsibility to comply with the limits of
the loading certificate consistent with legislation.
1.5
The description includes the duties and conduct of vehicle recovery service
vehicle drivers consistent with legislation.

applies to those standards.
