People credited with this unit standard are able to ascertain customer’s motor vehicle requirements, apply vehicle knowledge to sales presentations, and demonstrate a vehicle to a customer. Performance criteria 1.1 Relevant usage information and vehicle requirements are obtained from the customer. Range price, mileage, proposed usage and environment requirements, fuel economy, vehicle environmental impact. Element 2 Apply vehicle knowledge to sales presentations. Performance criteria 2.1 The features and benefits of the vehicle presented are identified as those stated by the vehicle manufacturer to reflect and acknowledge understanding of customer requirements. 2.2 Relevant sales information and technical sales data is conveyed to the customer. Range 2.3 vehicle manufacturer information, company sales information. An awareness of competitors’ products is maintained. Range purchasing, marketing, customer requirements, sales information. Element 3 Demonstrate a vehicle to a customer. Performance criteria 3.1 The vehicle is prepared for presentation in showroom condition. 3.2 A planned demonstration involving the customer’s participation is performed allowing concerns to be resolved and buying signals recognised. 3.3 The vehicle’s controls, operation and features are demonstrated in a manner which reveals its capabilities and reflect and acknowledge understanding of customer requirements. 3.4 A pre-determined demonstration drive is arranged ensuring that traffic regulations are observed and the route best demonstrates the overall vehicle features. New Zealand Qualifications Authority 2016 394 version 4 Page 3 of 3 Please note Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment. Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards. Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards. Accreditation requirements and an outline of the moderation system that applies to this standard are outlined in the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP). The AMAP also includes useful information about special requirements for organisations wishing to develop education and training programmes, such as minimum qualifications for tutors and assessors, and special resource requirements.
