Elements and Performance Criteria element 1 Prepare to inspect the damage. performance criteria 1.1 Vehicle details are identified and noted to enable parts and materials to be procured according to the vehicle manufacturers’ specifications and company policy. Range: 1.2 Customer details are identified and recorded to enable job sheet information to be completed. Range: 1.3 may include but is not limited to – Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), paint code, odometer reading, make and model of vehicle, year of manufacture, Warrant of Fitness (WoF) or Certificate of Fitness (CoF), registration number, model and chassis numbers, trim and glass codes, lamp numbers. may include but is not limited to – name of registered owner, driver (if different from registered owner) address, contact phone numbers, insurance details (broker and insurance company), fax number, email, customer instructions, customer’s signature. Range: 2.2 may include but is not limited to – visual, digital imaging; previous panel and/or paint repairs, visible and hidden panel, glass, structural and/or paint damage, corrosion damage, mechanical damage, electrical and electronic damage, supplementary restraint system damage, suspension damage, brake damage, damage to air conditioning system. Method and sequence of repair is identified according to the manufacturer's specifications, company policy, and legislative requirements. Range: in-house repairs, outwork repairs. 2.3 Parts to be removed to enable the job to be carried out according to the company policy and to the manufacturer's specifications are identified and noted. 2.4 Job sheet is written and no damage is omitted according to company policy. element 3 Estimate the cost of damage. performance criteria 3.1 Equipment is used for calculation of the estimate. Range: 3.2 may include but is not limited to – computer, calculator. Estimate is calculated according to company policy and legislative requirements. Copy of estimate is filed in the appropriate place according to company policy. element 4 Prepare a quotation. performance criteria 4.1 Equipment is identified and is used for the calculation of the quotation. Range: may include but is not limited to – computer, calculator. 4.2 Deadlines are identified and met as determined by the quote specification. 4.3 Quotation is calculated, prepared, and submitted to the customer according to company policy and legislative requirements. 4.4 Copy of quotation is filed in the appropriate place according to company policy.
