Purpose
This unit standard is intended for people who are working in a
primary industry workplace and recognises the skills and
knowledge necessary to take responsibility for implementing a
routine maintenance schedule of vehicles, plant, machinery
and equipment.

Definitions
Safety procedures refer to the farm’s health and safety plan, relevant legislation,
codes of practice and published safety guidelines.
Workplace procedures refer to verbal or written instructions to staff on procedures for
vehicles, plant, machinery, and equipment.

Legislation relevant to this unit standard includes but is not limited to the Health and
Safety in Employment Act 1992.

Implements a routine maintenance schedule in accordance with workplace
procedures.

Complies with safety procedures while implementing a routine maintenance

Follows manufacturer's specifications, where available, and relevant workplace
procedures.

Maintains records in accordance with workplace procedures.
