Manufacturing Skills Australia (MSA) acts as the secretariat for the Competitive
Manufacturing Initiative (CMI). CMI is a collaborative response from Australia’s
Manufacturing Industries Training Advisory Bodies (ITABs), who are the developers
of the CMI Training Package. A memorandum of understanding has been
established between FITEC, on behalf of the Competitive Manufacturing Consortium
in New Zealand, and MSA. The memorandum of understanding outlines the
agreement between FITEC and MSA on moderation in New Zealand, the
accreditation of providers in New Zealand, and the provision for participation of the
New Zealand industry in the review of this competency standard in the future.
Further information relating to accreditation and moderation of this standard is
outlined in AMAP 0188.

Providers and Industry Training Organisations, which have been granted consent and
which are assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that
applies to those standards.
Requirements for consent to assess and an outline of the moderation system that applies
to this standard are outlined in the Consent and Moderation Requirements (CMR). The
CMR also includes useful information about special requirements for organisations wishing
to develop education and training programmes, such as minimum qualifications for tutors
and assessors, and special resource requirements.
