This knowledge and skills may be required by people acting in a number of different positions in a sport club or organisation, for example, secretary, volunteers manager, club captain, member of the management committee, or a paid administrator. Explanatory notes 1 Sport teams include both individual and team sports; human resources include coaches, managers, officials, medical and administrative personnel. A team may be one individual or a group of individuals. 2 Legislation and regulations relevant to this unit standard include the Privacy Act, 1993. Evidence requirements 1.1 Strengths and weaknesses are assessed for teams and the club or organisation with respect to sport performance. Outcome 2 Establish communication links with club members and the media. Range communication systems include newsletter, address list, club meetings, annual report, press statements, press releases. Evidence requirements 2.1 Systems established and documented for communicating with club members comply with the Privacy Act 1993, and all of its amendments. 2.2 Personal contacts are established with media personnel. 2.3 Media kits prepared and made available to the media are fully researched, accurate, and topical. Outcome 3 Co-ordinate human resources within the sport club or organisation. Evidence requirements 3.1 Human resource requirements are identified for the sport club or organisation and documented. 3.2 Individuals are identified who are available to help the sport club or organisation. 3.3 Abilities, commitment, and potential are identified for each individual, and matched with the identified needs of the sport club or organisation. 3.4 Recruitment strategies are developed and implemented to meet human resource requirements. Range strategies include person specifications, job descriptions, advertising.
